London: Lovely May-Louise Flodin, of Sweden (Centre) holding the cup which was presented to her after winning the "Miss World" contest held at the Lyceum, London - the first-world beauty contest ever held in this country.
At left is Sylvia Muller, of Switzerland, who was second, and at right is Vera Marks, of Germany, who was third.
As us usual with this type of contest there was much disagreement with the judges' decision.

Looking on at extreme right is Kyllikki Koskibalme , of Finland who was fourth.
